Terms and Conditions

Your use of the Website in a Day service constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Consider this a social, rather than legal, contract. In that regard, these Terms are intended to ensure that the service works. Herein are the details:

Your Responsibilities

As the business owner (or authorized contact person), you play a very important role in the development of the site. You should have opinions on how your site looks and the content on it. We are there to facilitate that vision.

Therefore,

  • You should be available to our agent when he/she arrives in the morning for a discussion of your requirements
  • You should be able to provide our agent with a working space, complete with a nearby power outlet. We use laptop computers, so we don't need a lot of room.
  • You should be available to our agent throughout the day, to see the site as it develops and approve or suggest changes. We recommend you choose a day that you know you'll be around.

Our Responsibilities

As the service provider, we are bringing your vision to life -- at least, in virtual form. And while our service is designed to be affordable, you're still paying good money to do it.

Therefore,

  • We will examine your initial service request carefully, assessing the similar sites you've given us, and the details about what you want your site to do. If we feel it can be done in a day, we'll accept the job and we'll proceed.
  • In some cases, we will determine that the work cannot be done in a day. At that point we will recommend you deal with us on a traditional agency basis.
  • Once we agree to do your site in a day, then we're on the hook to complete it. Barring any scope issues (see below), if the job isn't done by the end of the day, we will finish it off-site within five business days at no additional charge.

Scope of Work

A day doesn't seem like a long time for a Website to be built. But by keeping our focus and trusting in our skill, it's quite possible.

Therefore,

  • At the start of the day during our discussion, our agent will lay out the work to be done in a checklist. This is your map of the day.
  • Any changes that you request be made to that map afterward will be considered for scope creep. Minor changes can be absorbed to a point, but larger deviations from the map will add time, and incur extra charges at a rate of $85/hour.

Payment

The goal of this service is to provide you with an easy-to-choose way of getting a high-quality Web site. WIAD is easy to choose because it's a fixed price that most small businesses can easily justify.

Therefore,

  • Payment is made by credit card during registration when you sign up for our service.
  • GST will be added to the fixed cost for Canadian residents only.

Assumption of Risk

In Website development, there is a direct relationship between time spent on scoping a job and how close the final product is to your vision. However, the more time spent on scope, the more expensive a job is. WIAD is affordable because we reduce the amount of scope work done. The disconnect between what you had in mind, and what we deliver, is the Assumption of Risk.

Therefore,

  • You understand that your vision of your site may not be executed with 100% fidelity.
  • You understand that, while you will have most input into the site's overall look and feel, and functionality, our agent will be invested with a great deal of authority in most of the executional details.
